The Mancos Valley has long been a place where agricultural and creative endeavors meet. Burrofest is a celebration the intersection of art and ag through the joy of interacting with a very special animal, the burro.

In 2019, the Mancos Creative District invited a group of burros and artists to come together to see what would unfold. We laughed, we painted, we sculpted, we enjoyed every minute of burro silliness. And we decided to do it again! This year we hold our fourth annual celebration of this cute, furry animal with art demonstrations, an animal art market, burro obstacle course and other burro antics, food trucks, music, and more.

Artists Sunday, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, is dedicated to supporting local artists and recognizing the way they enrich our lives, communities, and economy. Here in Mancos we make this a very special day by hosting the annual Mancos Art Market. We invite artists from all over the region to set up shop for one day in downtown Mancos. All of our many local galleries join in by offering special demonstrations. Locals and visitors are invited to come out and meet our arts community, sip a hot mulled cider at Fenceline, and spend your holiday dollars on the unique gift of art.
